Fire crews responded at 4:44 a.m. today to a fire at The 122 Bar and Restaurant at 241 Winslow Way West. The first arriving units found the structure totally involved, with flames shooting through the roof, according to Luke Carpenter, Bainbridge Island Assistant Fire Chief.
A second alarm was called immediately, bringing units from Poulsbo Fire, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue, and Naval Base Kitsap, Carpenter said.
Because of the involvement of the structure, crews did not enter the building, but fought the blaze defensively, with two ladder trucks and two elevated master streams shooting water on the building from above. (more…)
