I was in California for spring break last week, and although I apparently missed some action around here (e.g. Mayor Darlene Kordonowy almost announces and then doesn’t announce and then thinks about announcing that she’s running for a third term), it was a great vacation. Sun, sons (I have two in college in SoCal and one about to graduate from BHS), and some time away.
I’m getting ready for tonight’s Citizens Public Hearing at 6:30 at the Bainbridge Island Commons on Brien Drive (behind T&C). The event, organized by islander Joe Honick and sponsored in part by the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Council, is an opportunity for people to ask questions of Mayor and City Council members, most of whom have indicated they will attend. Bainbridge Review editor Dennis Anstine and I will be asking a few questions too, and Joe Honick will moderate. There won’t be any “three-minute” rule like there is during public comment at City Council meetings, but Joe intends to strictly enforce his rule that there be no personal attacks. Tough questioning, yes. Snark attacks, no.
And because I’m in a really good mood, I’m posting this video, which has absolutely nothing to do with Bainbridge or politics. It will simply put a smile on your face. Maybe we should try dancing at the next City Council meeting.
