The hearing on the Bainbridge Island Police Guild’s motion to prevent disclosure of investigations into possible misconduct by Bainbridge police officer Steve Cain is set for this Wednesday, April 16 at 9 a.m. at the Kitsap County Courthouse. The court is at 614 Division Street in Port Orchard. This is a change from the date I posted previously.
The Guild has sued the City of Bainbridge Island, Kitsap Sun reporter Tristan Baurick and me to prevent the City from releasing Officer Steve Cain’s records arising out of a police misconduct claim by islander Kim Koenig against Cain. Baurick and I made separate, but similar records requests.

Althea, I was planning to come lend moral support tomorrow. But I’m on kid duty. I’ll be thinking of you, and hoping it goes well.
Thanks Elise. I’m planning to post something about how it went. Stay tuned.
Althea — tell the judge — and I am sure he will roll his eyes — “Sunlight is the best disinfectant.” If he looks confused, tell him to Google it.
Good luck. Don’t speed, they will get you too.
Thanks for the good wishes. I drive so slow these days, my kids call me “feather foot.”
